PROFESSIONAL PLANTING AND LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION

Want to add new plants but aren’t sure they’ll thrive? Our lead horticulturist, trained at the Chicago Botanic Garden, brings decades of hands‑on experience working with hundreds of ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees. We offer thoughtful planting services for both homeowners and commercial clients, tailored to site conditions and long‑term success. The photo below shows one of our gardens in summer 2021.

GARDEN DESIGN

We create clear designs and drawings to help you visualize both residential and commercial projects. Our phased installation option lets you spread work across seasons or years, reducing upfront cost and maintenance while allowing your property to evolve without sudden, disruptive change.

Practicality guides our design approach: we select plants suited to existing site conditions—shade-loving species for shady areas, drought-tolerant plants for dry spots, etc.—so landscapes thrive with minimal intervention. We produce sketches and quick drawings to communicate the intended layout, planting, and function of outdoor spaces. Our plans respect sound design principles and prioritize usability and long-term performance, following the same practical standards used by institutions such as the Chicago Botanic Garden.

GRADING AND DRAINAGE SERVICES

We specialize in landscape drainage for properties that experience standing water or are at risk of water-related damage. A common and effective service we provide is extending downspouts and sump pump discharge lines away from the house using buried PVC piping and a shallow trench. This prevents water from pooling near the foundation, reducing the risk of foundation damage and lowering basement moisture and related repair costs.

Benefits:

  • Protects foundation by directing water away from the house

  • Reduces basement dampness and mold risk

  • Saves energy by preventing water from re-entering into systems that force additional discharge

  • Low-maintenance: buried solid PVC (4" and 6") provides long-term reliability

Photos below show completed sump pump discharge and downspout extensions using 4" and 6" solid PVC pipe. These projects, completed in Highland Park and Palatine, Illinois, resolved drainage issues that could have led to severe foundation damage if left unaddressed.
